One of the best things about being a wedding and lifestyle photographer is witnessing a family grow through the lens of the camera. I am super lucky to have met Luke and Felicity, they are so awesome! I have had a blast everytime I have been fortunate enough to photograph them, which started with their engagement and wedding through  to Felicity’s maternity shoot, and now as they expand their beautiful family.

Recently I sat down with Luke and Felicity in their lovely home, this time with the first and latest addition in the family, Tilly Mae. Just two weeks old, Tilly Mae has received nothing but warm, dotting affection and snuggles from her mum and dad.

“We loved the meaning of Tilly - strength in battle,” the couple responded when asked on the meaning behind their daughter’s name. “Over time throughout the pregnancy, it just seemed to stick, and by the time she arrived, we knew it was just right for her. Her middle name is Mae- for the month she was born, and also [the month] when our journey as a couple began.”

It is no surprise they chose their home as the location of the shoot for a similar reason. For Luke and Felicity, home is where their family began. Back in the day, the couple would spend Saturday afternoons at home with a bottle of good wine. These days, they continue to spread their love to laugh and have fun in life with their bundle of joy.

Witnessing couples comes together and grow their family is seriously the best bit of my job. I love documenting their significant milestones and creating a visual legacy and a story of their life that will be valued a cherished forever.

If there’s one thing we could all learn from Luke and Felicity it is what they hope to provide for their children: a view of the world that is light and full of possibilities. I left their home with a smile on my face knowing that their journey into parenthood will be one filled with every emotion you can imagine and I got to witness the very start.
