Amelia and Mitch- Glenworth Valley and the running of the horses.

Well- this one was a doozy…. I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful wedding of Mitch and Amelia at Glenworth Valley, one of the most freakin stunningly scenic venues on the Central Coast. Epic panoramic views, rainforests, bushland, oh- and wide open fields of horses, its seriously enough to make my head spin around like that scene of the exorcist.

Amelia and her husband met at the Terrigal Beach House…. Well any coastie would know it as “The Beery”. Their first date was to Yogurtland in Tuggerah, at a time when Mitchell’s sister was pregnant. On the same night, she picked him up from a party, and afterwards he insisted she come inside and meet his parents, who she was introduced to as “girl” (she’s quite certain he’d forgotten her name). This became her continued nickname from that day forth!

The proposal story in particular makes me laugh; Mitch absolutely loves his car, and at the time of the proposal he was working on it flat out. The two of them were booked into the ocean view room at the top floor of the Crown Plaza (just above where they’d met), and after a swim and some food they returned to the room to find a parcel on the table. Although this was actually part of Mitch’s engagement plan, Amelia took it to be some new part for his car and was, in her own words, “pretty pissed off”! Eventually though, after being convinced to open it for him, Amelia was greeted by a huge balloon sporting the words “Will you marry me?” as her future husband dropped to one knee.

I always ask my couples what the spark between them is- I really want to focus on capturing it throughout the wedding day - according to Amelia, it’s that Mitch barely smiles, so it was important to her that we got at least one picture where he was smiling! On a deeper level though, she swears that from the moment they met, she knew he was the one; he “followed her around” all night, and when they went their separate ways she went back and told her sister “I just met my future husband”. The rest is history!

Amelia wanted the first look of the ceremony to “wow” her guests - and I think you can agree from the photos, it certainly has that wow factor! there are not enough words to express just how perfect this day was! From the vendors, to the breathtaking location, to the most gorgeous human beings
