FIRST LOOK WEDDING - LAUREN & COREY

Luckily for me, being a photographer in this part of the world means I get to shoot on some CRAZY stunning locations, especially when it comes to weddings! You’d think I’d get sick of the beach, but I never do…. Getting my pants wet and sand in my shoes for the rest of the reception is honestly a small price to pay….

Rather then going with straight up tradition, these guys opted for what’s known as a β€œfirst look” - this is where the couple actually make time to see each other before the wedding ceremony. The wedding so often becomes about keeping everyone else happy, a first look is a moment for the couple only, a perfect moment together before the mayhem begins.

For those who love tradition, you may be scrunching your nose up about now, but in recent years this has actually become an increasingly popular trend and for good reason! With the stunning backdrop of Magenta Shores, Lauren and Corey eaglery walked from opposite directions down tree lined path and saw each other before the wedding in an absolutely beautiful, private moment just between them (and me hiding in the bushes taking photos subtly like a creep) they where then energetically met with the rest of their bridal party for some photos around Magenta Shores before they whisked off to Norah Head for their beautiful unplugged ceremony and their reception at Soldiers Beach surf club.

These two were engaged for 5 and a half years before the wedding, so in Lauren’s own words, it was a long time coming! During a backpacking trip around Europe, Corey was planning on popping the question, but it took him a couple of tries! After the first false state this state of non-engagement lasted, until a visit to the town of Bath in England. Before a trip to the famous spas, they took a little walk to a nearby park and stopped on a bridge overlooking the pond. With the crisp, autumnal air around them and the beautiful colours on the leaves, Corey dropped to one knee and Lauren just couldn’t say no!

I love asking couples what their favourite thing is about each other; in this instance, Lauren’s favourite thing about Corey is his kind, easy-going nature and how he would do anything for her. For Corey, it’s Lauren’s fun-loving nature and how supportive she is. It’s clear how much love and affection they have for each other, as well as for their puppy flower girl, Nellie!

Without further ado, enjoy the photos of Lauren & Corey’s special day, taken at Magenta Shores, Norah Head and Soldiers Beach surf club!
