JOSIE & JACK WEDDING - ADAM’S PEAK COUNTRY ESTATE & BARN

When I’m helping a wedding couple-to-be plan their wedding day photos, it’s always so lovely to talk to them about how their relationship started and how they ended up on the path that led them to the altar. Not only is it nice to hear a feel-good story, but it also helps me know what to focus on when it comes to the day of the shoot.

In the case of Josie and Jack, they began their journey as friends (although it must be said that they clicked instantly) which was kickstarted by a chance meeting in a pub one night, which Josie firmly believes was a sign from the universe. Now they’ve been together nearly 4 years to the date!

So. Romantic backstory? Check. A couple deeply in love? Check. Now all they needed was a beautiful location to tie the knot, and it’s pretty evident that they found this in Adam’s Peak Country Estate!

Josie and Jack described the décor for their weddings as “rustic, simple and no frills - a bit like us!” While that may be true, it shows that simple doesn’t have to equal boring; even just one picture of the newlywed couple out in nature, smiling with the sunlit hills of the country estate behind them, is enough to showcase the beauty of their wedding location and the happiness of the bride and groom!

The proposal was simple and sweet. Josie had set up a surprise indoor picnic for Jack at home for their anniversary, as COVID stay-at-home orders took away any chance for a candle-lit dinner in their favourite restaurant or departing for a romantic getaway! However, that didn’t stop a wonderful anniversary celebration from taking place, as when Jack came home from work he proposed basically straight away! For both of them, it was perfect - to quote Josie, “no bells and whistles, just us.”

Jack’s favourite thing about Josie is her smile, stating that it always makes him happy without fail! Josie’s favourite thing about Jack? It’s his ‘goofiness’ and ‘random one liners’ that have Josie cracking up all the time. Smiles and laughs were definitely in abundance during this unplugged wedding, and I’m so pleased to have been able to capture it for them. Take a look at photos from their special day here!
