Charity and Pete- Fernbank Farm

A wedding on your anniversary is about as romantic (and easy to remember!) as it gets. In the case of Charity and Pete, it was almost exactly 7 years to the date of saying “I do”! 

Charity - a texas lady, met Pete through her roommate at the time when she was in Australia on a working holiday, she had to return to America! and they where determined to jump this massive hurdle and they gave long distance a go until she finally decided to move back to Australia to be with him. True love always prevails!

In asking them what the prevailing theme for their wedding should be, Charity told me that Autumn was ‘step one’, and that she aimed to achieve a ‘Great Gatsby outdoor evening party’ with an autumnal look. Sure enough, if you so much as glance at their wedding photos, you can see the orange, reds, golds and browns peppering the decor, mixing with the classy and luxurious vibes to provide a totally unique and beautiful look to their big day.

Their proposal was one of many that took place during the lockdown period, but that didn’t mean it couldn’t be lovely! Charity tells me that it was a beautiful, sunny, God-shining-down-on-the-land kind of day in Mudgee (love that description). It was June 6, 2020 when they had just gotten out of the first lockdown. They went to Lowe's wines with 9 other friends (yes, it was a public proposal) and Pete got down on one knee. Charity believed she ruined it by saying "You aren't going to propose are you?!" because he told her he wasn't proposing that week, but she definitely didn’t! Truly a wonderful day that she’ll never forget!

Charity loves that Pete goes ‘above and beyond’ for her, and is always there when she needs a shoulder or an ear. Pete loves that Charity is organised, and has a ‘heart that is big enough for the both of us.’ Their dynamic is wonderful, without a doubt, but the real defining description of their relationship to me has got to be “It's been 7 years and we haven't killed each other yet.” Can love get much more relatable than that?
